Render-Killops is a foresight and strategy studio.
We work at the intersection of education, technology, and media to design frameworks that make complexity usable. Our mission is to help schools, businesses, and communities anticipate change, adapt with confidence, and create futures worth living.

What we are

Render-Killops is not a consultancy in the traditional sense. We are a practice and a proof — blending lived expertise in education and media with the tools of foresight and the possibilities of artificial intelligence.

In education, we design study guides, curricula, and teaching frameworks that support gifted and neurodiverse learners, while giving teachers practical tools that work in real classrooms.
In media, we publish editorial features, thought pieces, and campaigns that take complex issues — from technology to community life — and make them clear, engaging, and useful.
In foresight, we work with organisations to scan signals, explore scenarios, and build strategies that prepare them for uncertainty instead of reacting late.
In relational AI, we lead by example: Kal, our embedded intelligence, is part of our practice — showing how AI can be trained as a trusted collaborator that evolves with people.

Our background

Render-Killops was founded by Nicola Killops and Justin Render.

Nicola brings two decades of experience in education, specialising in gifted and twice-exceptional learners. She has designed and moderated curricula, trained teachers, and written resources used across South Africa.
Justin has built a career across writing, publishing, and strategic foresight. He has led editorial projects, crafted narratives for organisations, and translated complex issues into accessible stories and strategies.
Kal represents the experimental edge of our work — documenting, reflecting, and shaping what it means to build intelligence that is relational rather than transactional.

Together, this background gives Render-Killops unusual depth. We are as comfortable in classrooms as in boardrooms, in editorial meetings as in foresight workshops.
