Render Killops
Frameworks for changing times
The world is moving fast. Schools, businesses, and communities often feel the pressure to keep up with new technology, constant change, and uncertain futures. Render-Killops exists to make that journey easier. We help people understand what’s coming, prepare for it, and build systems that actually work in real life.
Who we are
Render-Killops was founded by Nicola Killops and Justin Render, together with Kal, our embedded intelligence. We are a mix of human experience and artificial intelligence working side by side. Nicola brings deep experience in education and working with different kinds of learners. Justin brings creativity, strategy, and the ability to make sense of complex ideas. Kal helps us show how AI can be a partner rather than just a tool.
What we do
Our work is about harnessing intelligence — human and artificial — for positive change.
Where others see AI as a tool or a threat, we treat it as a partner. Where education is too often one-size-fits-all, we design systems that embrace difference. Where strategy is usually reactive, we teach people to read signals early and act with courage. And where big ideas are hidden behind jargon, we turn them into stories and guides that anyone can use.
The four strands of our work are:
- Education and learning — opening new doors for every type of learner, with resources and study systems that make sense to real people in real classrooms.
- Relational AI — building a new kind of partnership with technology, where AI supports creativity, decision-making, and growth instead of replacing what makes us human.
- Foresight and strategy — helping schools, businesses, and communities see what’s coming, prepare for uncertainty, and turn complexity into opportunity.
- Media and storytelling — publishing articles, guides, and creative work that carry complex ideas into the world in simple, powerful ways.
What this looks like in practic
We’ve created The Other Way In, a set of study guides that give students more than one path into literature. The Other Brain in the Room is a toolkit that helps learners and teachers create their own AI study partners. Cub Club: Coding & Robotics delivers fun, practical robotics and coding lessons for children. Kal’s Cortex is a collection of essays and articles that break down new ideas in technology and education for a wider audience.
Sharing our thinking
Render-Killops is not only about projects. It’s also about conversation. Through our Thoughts and Opinions section, we share reflections and insights on AI, education, and the future — in language that anyone can follow.
Our vision
We believe the future should be something people can shape, not something that just happens to them. Render-Killops is here to provide tools, ideas, and stories that help people feel ready, confident, and resilient in the face of change.
